Unlike solid rubber bushings, hydro-bushings contain internal glycol fluid chambers that absorb high-frequency road vibrations. When the rubber fatigue-cracks, fluid leaks out, creating 10mm of uncontrolled wheel deflection under braking.
When replacing control arm bushings, fasteners must NEVER be torqued with wheels hanging in the air. Tightening under hanging load creates permanent torsional pre-stress, ripping new bushings in under 5,000 miles.
